Ways to give
There are many ways to make your tax-deductible contribution to the Institute for Applied Tinkering or directly to Brightworks or Tinkering School:
By check (preferred): Made payable to ‘Institute for Applied Tinkering’. Drop it off at Brightworks or mail to: Brightworks, Attn: Brightworks Annual Fund, 682 Schofield Rd. San Francisco, CA 94129.
PayPal: Simply donate directly on the PayPal site with a credit card (we are charged a 2.2% fee for this, which is why we actually prefer checks).
Pledge: If you're not ready to make your actual gift yet, no problem! Simply email your pledge to giving@sfbrightworks.org. This helps Brightworks plan for the year and you can fulfill the pledge anytime before February 28.
Stock donations: Gifts of securities are a great way to make a gift and they have significant tax advantages for the donor. Please contact our Finance Department for more information.
Employer matching: Matching gifts are a great way to double or even triple your giving. Simply inquire with your employer if they provide matching, and they should have all the necessary info on how to proceed. Please let us know to look out for your matching gift by emailing giving@sfbrightworks.org.
You can also lend support in other ways:
Join FamilyWorks or The Annual Fund Committee
Buy Mars gear or Tinkering School camps for the space explorers in your life
Send Tinkering Labs kits to all your favorite kids – a percent of all proceeds go to the IAT
Volunteer in any capacity that fits your time and strengths – whether it’s painting the building, writing grants, fundraising, building play structures, or lending a hand, you can reach out to anyone on staff to discuss. For volunteering opportunities please reach out to info@sfbrightworks.org.
Please note that all gifts to IAT are fully tax-deductible. Tax ID 26-4299346. If you have any questions, please get in touch with our Finance Manager, Adrian, at adrian@appliedtinkering.org.
